From beginning to end, the whole team at Expert Design were wonderful to deal with! From the moment I called for an estimate, Paula was extremely responsive and helpful. Although we already had a design in mind, she was able to assist us in finding the missing elements and locating sources for materials as well as design inspiration. She was also helpful in identifying the correct quantities of certain materials we should order, e.g. tiles. If we had not accepted their advice about sourcing of our countertop, we would likely have paid more for something not nearly as nice as the countertop we ended up with, and delivery would have taken a lot longer! When it came time to do the work, Marius and Selvin were terrific. They’re both extremely nice, friendly, courteous and professional guys, who were great to have in our home for the duration of the project. They worked solidly everyday, and always had great attention to quality of workmanship and detail, including with respect to areas that will remain largely unseen, e.g. under the sink. They even made some decorative adjustments to give our IKEA cabinets a more custom-built feel, which was a terrific bonus. They were also extremely patient in answering our questions or responding to requests, and creative in problem-solving the trickier elements of the installation. For example, our ceilings were too low for a traditional hood and chimney-style extractor fan, but they figured out how to install an under cabinet fan in a way that was both functional and sleek, despite the absence of an actual cabinet to mount it to. Thanks to their hard work and efficient countertop sourcing, the entire project took one week from start to finish – less than half of the time estimated by others – a huge bonus when having to live without a functioning kitchen in the meantime. They were also very respectful of our pets, making sure never to leave the outside door open unattended, and cordoning off the construction area with plastic sheeting to minimize the spread of dust or risk of our cats exploring by themselves at night. Would that all contractors were as professional and easy to deal with! Thanks to the whole team at Expert Design, we now have a beautiful, elegant, and functional kitchen that we will enjoy for years to come. We would use them again in a heartbeat, and have no qualms about recommending others do the same!
